Teeny Nymph

Hook: Hanak nymph hook

Body: Pheasant tail fibres

Even though this is a simple fly, it is not that easy to tie it in a nice way. Tie in the fibres with their thick end at the hook bend. Usually 6-8 fibres are enough. Wind the fibres around the hook and tie them in at the hook eye. Streak the fibres back and down. Ideally the fibres are touching the hook bend. Tie in and make a neat little head and whip finish. If you want you can use a thread in a nice colour for a hot spot. You might need a couple of flies until you figured out the right feather length to begin with. There is no way to adjust them later in the process.

The nymph is completely unweighted. This makes them ideal for casting to rising fish. Unless you fish a sinking line, an area, where Jim Teeny has been very influental. Maybe even more than this nymph.

If you never heard about Jim Teeny, look him up. Know your history and on whom's shoulders we stand.
