Hook: Hanak dry fly hook
Wing: Bleached elk hair
Body: CDC/squirrel dubbing
Dubbing the body should not be a challenge. Tying in a clean elk hair wing is more difficult. At least it was for me. If you struggle with this, make sure you bought elk hair. European deer hair is way more brittle, and a bit more difficult to work with. It is easier to learn with elk hair.
The next tip I can give you is watching this video. And yes, if your flies are supposed to look clean, you need a hair stacker.
Go tie a dozen of this fly! The first 6 might look like a mess, but then you should really see some progress.
Whenever I fish fast currents this is the first pattern I tie on. No matter what is hatching right now :-)
