Chenille Larva

Hook: Hanak jig hook

Bead: 4 mm bead

Tail: 2 mm black chenille

Even though big nymphs = big fish is not necessarily true, I love to have some heavy size 10 nymphs in my box. These are really going deep in those big greenish pools and can hopefully attract one of the big shadows down there.

You have finally a purpose for black chenille after you bought this for tying your first wooly buggers only to find out, that wooly bugger bodies look ugly with chenille. I secure one end with a lighter and tie it in. Over that a dubbing loop with black hare's ear and a tiny bit of black synthetic dubbing for sparkle. You could also use flash, or leave the sparkle away. And that's it. A real 3 min tie.

This fly imitiates a caddis larva in it's housing rather well and the little tail moves nicely in the current, so it could also go for fry or a little worm.

Das Problem mit den eifrig gekauften Chenillen... wer kennt es nicht. Gute Lösung, werde ich mal ausprobieren also danke für die Inspiration!
